Net Carbs (Effective Net Carbs)

The amount of carbohydrate in a food with the amount of dietary fiber, glycerine, and sugar alcohols in that same food subtracted out (since fiber and the other substances have little impact on the blood sugar and therefore the insulin).

 

Here is the equation:

 

Total Carb                    20 grams

(minus) -Dietary Fiber     -3 grams

(minus) -Sugar Alchohol  -2 grams (if Applicable)
